About EMUA
EMUA is a membership organisation, working on behalf of the HEIs in the East Midlands. Our mission is to promote the impact our HEIs have on a local, national and global economy, and to add value to members' activities by facilitating co-operation and collaboration. The Association was formally established in December 1998.
EMUA has provided a useful mechanism for engaging with regional organisations particularly emda, influencing regional strategy, and gaining funds to support the delivery of regional economic development activity. The current priorities of EMUA are:
- Ensuring that the positive contribution of EM HEIs (collectively and individually) to the economy is not is not lost in the transition from regional structures to local and national structures.
- Raising the understanding of key policy makers in the region, regarding the importance of Higher Education.
- Enhancing postgraduate experience and employability.
